The five Christmas 2012 postage stamps unveiled by Royal Mail feature traditional Christmas scenes and characters including Father Christmas, festive robins, Christmas Trees and a reindeer.These stamps have been designed by Mr Scheffler – a German book illustrator famous for his drawings for children’s books, who is best known for his work on The Gruffalo and The Gruffalo’s Child, written by Julia Donaldson.
Details of the stamps - In the first stamp you can see, Father Christmas with a festive robin perching on his hand (1st Class), in second stamp there is a reindeer with decorated antlers (2nd Class), in third stamp a cat and mouse decorate a Christmas Tree (87p), in the fourth stamp a Robin atop a sprig of holly bearing a star decoration in his beak (£1.28) and in the fifth stamp you can see a snowman meeting a penguin (£1.90).
The set of five stamps will go on sale from 6 November and will be available online, in all post offices and can also be purchased by phone on 08457 641 641.
