Cricketer Harbajan Singh who is currently playing in Indian Premier League is soon going to get more involved with entertainment industry, especially films and TV serials.
The cricketer who has been out of the Indian team for a while now, is soon going to produce films and content for television
Harbajan Singh and Geeta Basra are reportedly good friends and his interest in films seemed natural. But now it seems that it isn’t only his relationship that was driving his curiosity.
India’s leading bowler and his childhood friend Chandan Madaan, also a cricketer, will produce films and content for television.
According to latest media reports, on 3rd May 2013, the cricketers will announce the details of the first two films.
Says a source, “Bhajji is clear that he wants to back entertainers. The first two films will feature known stars from Bollywood. They are talking to established names from films and the advertising world to helm them. Later this year, they are also expecting to start a couple of movies with newcomers, as the company wants to launch and promote new talent.”
As for television, they will begin producing the content in the second half of the year. Bollywood casting director Shahid Hassan has been brought on board.
When contacted, the company’s CEO, Avinnash Nanda said that they would reveal their plans at the launch, which is likely to be attended by Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Mukesh Ambani and some top politicians.
Meanwhile Geeta, who will be making her debut in Punjabi films soon, said, “I am glad to know that Bhajji is getting into film production. It’s too early to tell if I will be a part of those projects. You should ask him that.”
Earlier in February this year, Harbhajan Singh had sung a song named “Ek Suneha”.
