The trailer of Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express released on 13 June 2013 and the film looks like a complete family entertainer with action, comedy, romance and good music. Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara which was to be released on same day, but now the movie Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai Dobara is postponed by a week and it will released on 15th August 2013 instead of 8th August 2013.
Salman Khan who had back to back three released on EID had done the great business and year on year the collections went up. In 2010 Dabangg collected 14.5 crore, in 2011 Bodyguard collected 22 crore and in 2012 Ek Tha Tiger collected 33 crore on its first day collections. All the three films entered into 100 crore club within just 5 days of its release.
In 2013 we have SRK’s Chennai Express releasing on EID – 8 the August 2013 and we can expect the same business like the last three years. Chennai Express will be releasing on more than 5000 screens worldwide and we can predict the first day collections of the film around 28 crore, 9th August 2013 being national holiday it will collect around 28 crores, 10th August 2013, Saturday it will collect around 18 crores, 11th August 2013, Sunday it will collect around 25 crores. Chennai Express will enter into 2013 100 crore club in just 4 days of its release. So the first week collections will be around 140 to 145 crores.
